The Grotte de Thaïs: an underground world!
The Grotte de Thaïs used to be under water, and along your trail you will discover how water has sculpted the world of the cavern, including its naturally pigmented rocks. Relive the everyday life of Homo Sapiens through the objects found in this multi-millennial cavern.
A very special bone
One of the items discovered in the Grotte de Thaïs is the Os coché n° 250 (now held by the Musée de Valence). This unique piece of notched bone is, to date, the earliest extant example of annotation by humans, and is thought to be some kind of calendar.
